Why We Made this Film

What inspired us to tell this story was the ambition to tackle a yet  unsolved problem. Methane is far more potent than CO2, and while hydropower is critical to the world’s transition to clean energy, dams emit 13 million tons of methane per year.

We met Co-Founders Louise Parlons Bentata and Néstor Rueda-Vallejo through On Deck Climate Tech and were intrigued by their ambition to take on this challenge. Bluemethane is aiming to capture methane from hydropower to stop future warming before it starts—and create biofuel in the process.
