Why We Made this Film
According to the International Energy Agency (IEA), hydropower remains the largest renewable electricity technology by capacity and generation. We’re talking 90% of the world’s energy storage type capacity.
The big problem with hydropower is that it can reduce river flows, negatively affecting fish, birds, and other wildlife. When we heard that a pair of siblings out of California built a solution, we were immediately intrigued.
Natel Energy is a hydropower startup that has a goal besides creating clean energy: prioritizing biodiversity. With their novel turbine technology, they’re restoring California rivers and helping build a more sustainable future.
